Frame Grabbers Convert Your Tablet Display into a Video

Posted on Mar 4th 2013

Epiphan Frame Grabbers are a new product designed to make it simple for you to capture and record high resolution video and images from nearly any video source like a tablet, camera, healthcare or security equipment, television or computer. Frame grabbers allow you to record whatever appears on your tablet or device screen and convert it into an accessible video format that can be edited and shared.

Common applications include:

  • Record and broadcast lectures, conference presentations or seminars
  • Create training videos which demonstrate the on-screen process
  • Capture high-resolution video from a tablet or gaming console to share
  • Record and digitize security camera footage
  • Capture medical images and readouts from health care machines

The two products we currently offer are the Epiphan VGA2USB and the new DVI2USB 3.0.

Epiphan VGA2USB is a pocket-sized, external, low-cost VGA to USB capture device capable of capturing output from virtually any VGA source. The VGA2USB is the ideal frame grabbing solution for basic recording of screen menus or lower-resolution screens and videos.

Epiphan DVI2USB 3.0 is the newest product in Epiphan’s lineup, and is a versatile, high performance capture device that performs lossless capture of HD video (1920x1200/1920x1080) from HDMI, DVI, or VGA at 30 frames per second over USB 3.0. DVI 2 USB 3.0 is the ideal solution for capturing high-resolution images and HD video from versatile sources.
