5 Reasons to Switch to a Wireless Headset

Posted on Jun 10th 2020

This year, many people began working remotely, some of which for the first time. One side effect of this major change is the influx of phone and video conferences. If you are currently holding your phone to your face, here are some reasons you may want to consider a wireless headset:

Fewer germs touching your face. Did you know that office phones can carry up to 25,000 germs per square inch? Sure, you can use antibacterial wipes constantly , but an easy solution is to wear a headset, since it doesn’t rest on your face like a cell or office phone.

Alleviate neck or back pain. We’re all guilty of trying to type while holding a phone up to our ear with our shoulder. While you may feel like a killer multi-tasker, in the long-term, it can cause some pretty bad neck and back pain. In a study by Plantronics, headset users experienced 35% less muscle tension than handset users.  If phone calls have you constantly rubbing your neck, it’s time to make the switch.

Increase productivity of calls.  In addition to the back pain, holding your phone up really slows down your typing, wasting not only time, but money. According to the same study by Plantronics, headsets can boost productivity in workplaces by approximately 43%.

You don’t want to be tethered to your desk or phone. With a wireless headset, you have the flexibility to walk around, so you can step away from your desk without missing a call. When tied down with back-to-back phone calls, the ability to get up, stretch, or even get a coffee refill goes a long way.

Hear and be heard better. Many headsets were meant for loud control centers. They work to cancel out background noise, delivering the clearest audio not only to you, but to whomever you’re speaking to.
