2019 Apple Products Preview

Posted on Feb 22nd 2019

There is much speculation about which devices Apple will come out with in 2019 and exactly when they will be released.

Here, we take a look at the possibilities for 2019, which will no doubt be a very busy year for Apple. Especially considering we may see some of these devices announced in March 2019.

Enjoy & stay tuned!  Cellular Accessories for Less will bring you these devices or their accessories when they become available.

iPod Touch 2
The iPod Touch hasn’t been updated in years, and if Apple’s recent trademark applications are to be any indication, that will change in 2019. Some may be asking why?  The answer to this can be found within the trademark itself, which includes “hand-held units for playing electronic games.”  It seems that Apple is banking on an iPod Touch redux for gaming. It will be interesting to see which direction Apple travels in 2019 and whether the iPod Touch will be part of the journey.
AirPower
This may be one of the most confounding Apple products in recent memory.  After being first unveiled alongside the iPhone X in 2017, the release date for the AirPower has continually been pushed back.  Here we are in Q1 of 2019 without ever having seen a product.  Bet on a Q2 2019 release date for a product that has been much anticipated for quite some time.
iPad Mini 5
The iPad Mini is one of a few Apple devices that haven’t seen an upgrade in a few years.  If the word in the Twittersphere is correct and a leaked iPad Mini 5 case is legitimate, then we may see this in Q2 of 2019, or possibly before.  If the case is any indication, the iPad Mini 5 will keep the rounded shape and corners of the past models, but incorporate the corner camera and flash, as seen on the new iPad Pros.  The connections for this device are rumored to be the same as previous models, including a lightning port and 3.5mm jack.
iPad 9.7” 7th gen
As with the case for the iPad Mini 5, the new Apple iPad 9.7 7th generation looks to be a budgetary option that won’t include Face ID, nor Touch ID.  Outside of that, not much is known about this device, so you’ll have to stay tuned.
AirPods 2
With the first edition AirPods being years old now, it’s very likely the rumor around the new Apple AirPods is very true.  Recent leaks point to not much of a design change when it comes to the exterior, but more of an interior hardware and software update.  Deeper bass, increased health functionality and a potential coating for better grip are all possibilities, including a price tag of around $200.
