The stand has a compartment below the enclosure that allows for storage of the tablet's power adapter when used with a universal extension power cord.  The extension power cord can then be guided through the floor stand's hollow center.  This feature provides an attractive and secure cable management solution that prevents theft of the power adapter and allows the stand to be placed further from the power outlets since it is now not limited to the USB cable's length.
