Wacky Wireless News: Six Vintage Technology Advertisements

Posted on Jun 12th 2014

30 years from now, can you picture advertisement drones buzzing past your apartment window or hologram advertisements popping up on sidewalks? We can (heck, we wrote it)! But rather than pontificating about the future, we'll take the easy road and poke fun at the past. Prepare yourself for questionable fashion choices and behold advertisements from 30+ years ago:

6. Apple II & III - 1983

Bought my $7,800 Apple computer to make better decisions than Jefferson did in 1776. I was better than Jefferson then... and still am today.

5. Apple II - 1977

Tracking the stock market in my sweet turtleneck as my wife looks on and chops off her fingers. We loved Apple so much that we even had a painting of an apple in our kitchen.

4. Commodore EXECUTIVE 64 - 1984

Lounging by the pool with my mimosa, two beautiful women, and my Commodore EXECUTIVE 64. Life was good.

3. The Osborne - 1980

Thought we saw a ghost, but it was actually an angel with The Osborne. We were never the same after that, especially the guy behind us.

2. CompuServe Information Service - 1982

Chatting with my fiancée about getting the CompuServe Information Service during our all-white phase. Our couch was beige because white couches were so tacky back then.

1. Stock photo - 1980s

Guiding a printing document and couldn't be happier. An amazing view of decorative wood panelling can only bolster one's joy.
